Woody is a spunky, outgoing pup who will grow into a medium-sized dog. He is a traditional island dog known in Anguilla as a “Yard Dog” and in some islands as a “Potcake”. This means that his breed background is very mixed and likely will not point to a specific base breed.
Personality: Woody is very friendly and loves people.
Training: Woody is crate-trained and walks well on a leash. He needs work on potty-training still, but does well when taken out on a schedule.
Socialization: He is great with other dogs and has shown to be great with children (the youngest volunteer in Anguilla is 2 years old and Woody was very fond of her). Woody’s first foster home in Anguilla had cats and he did well with them.
Background: Woody was surrendered to the shelter at 4 weeks of age. He was part of a litter of 6 puppies. Woody and his siblings were placed into foster in Anguilla for a few weeks until they were old enough to enter the shelter. Some of his siblings found homes locally, but unfortunately, even though he was advertised for adoption in Anguilla for quite some time, no one stepped up to adopt him. Woody is the brother to “Mulan” who was recently adopted through Fly to Freedom Dog Rescue.
