Adoption Process
Adoption with the Fly To Freedom Dog Rescue is open to any individual or family in the United States who meets our adoption requirements and can provide a dog a good, safe, committed and loving home.
Dog ownership is a lifetime commitment. This includes paying for food, toys, supplies, training, vet visits, vaccines, heartworm, flea and tick preventative, and accidental healthcare needs that your dog may require over the course of its lifetime.
Adopters will pay our adoption fee in full at the time of adoption. The adoption fee is non-negotiable.
While not a requirement for adoption, we strongly suggest purchasing pet health insurance with Fetch or Trupanion.
Adoption Requirements:
- Complete the adoption application
- Participate in a phone interview with our Adoptions Director
- Provide references of close friends and/or associates who can speak about the type of dog owner you are or will be
- Provide the name of your current (or potential) veterinary doctor and veterinary clinic where the dog will be treated
- Agree to make arrangements to pick up the dog in the town where he/she is being fostered
- Have all of the necessary dog supplies in your home and ready for your new friend when he/she arrives to your home for the first tim
